This is my first attempt at blogging. Having read so much about blogs, I thought I would give it a try. Was a little hesitant to start at my age but figured that if Shobhaa De and the Big B, could have there own blogs then so could I !!!!
I think writers block is setting in....... there are so many topics to touch upon that I dont know where to start, be it the upcoming elections, the state of my beloved Mumbai, the aviation industry, the all pervading corruption, our petty politicians et al.
Today is Holi and like Shobhaa said in her blog, I hate it. It has degenerated from a fun day to a day of misery. When we were young there were no balloons filled with filth hurled at you, no targeting of women, no vulgarity, no noise. Just laughter and merriment that was enjoyed by all communities......I am a christian but we still enjoyed playing holi with our hindu friends. Now it is hell. Just the day before yesterday, while returning from work, balloons were thrown at the ladies compartment of the local train. Luckily they missed their target otherwise anthing could have happened, given how crowded our trains are.
Now the din outside my house has started.......the cacophany of drums drowning out the happy laughter of little children playing. Anyway I guess I will be house bound for the better part of the day.
